Bank of England Museum

Bank of England Museum is amongst the most exceptional and unique museum in the city. It is a popular London attraction and is sited on the eastern sides of the Bank of England. Founded by the great Royal Charter, the museum is widely spread in an area of around 10000 square feet. You can discover a wide range of pictures, coins, books, bank notes, silver bars and much more at the museum. The museum displays some of the most interesting collections in the city. The collections at the museum reflect the history of the Bank of England. Now it is the central bank of the nation and thus a prestigious site in the city.

The gold bar displayed at the museum belongs to the ancient period. The illustration of the working of a bank and the financial systems can also be seen in the museum. The currency of London in the ancient times is also displayed at the museum. The museum is easily accessible from the Bank tube station and is open from Monday to Friday. You can visit the museum between 10 am to 5 pm. The entry to the museum is absolutely free of cost.

Mon - Fri, 10.00 - 17.00, Christmas Eve, 10.00 - 13.00.

It is generally open on the day of the Lord Mayor's Show in mid-November but please check the diary of events for details as this could be subject to change. Closed weekends, Public and Bank Holidays

Access & Disabled Facilities.

Portable ramps give wheelchair access to all areas of the Museum including the toilet for disabled visitors. Braille guides to the Museum in English are available from the Information Desk. There are hearing loops for use in the cinema and with the self-guided audio tour. The main interactive video display has optional sub-titles.
