Clockmaker's Museum
The Clockmakers Museum was found way back in the year 1813 and is situated in Guidhall, London in England but was opened to public only by the year 1874. The Clockmakers Museum is also known as the Clockmakers Company Library. The museum has a huge collection of clocks and watches from all over the world in its library of items. The Clockmakers Museum mostly contains items from 1600s to the 1850s. The marine timekeepers including the fifth marine timekeepers by John Harrison in the year 1770 is a must see. The museum went under refurbishment in the year 2002 and was launched again with more charismatic display. One can also witness 21st century clocks and watches being made by famous contemporary craftsmen and artists live in the museum. The museum also includes manuscripts of the Clockmakers Company, blueprints and printed books by clockmakers. Entrance to the museum is free of charge and one can explore 600 English and European watches, 15 marine time keepers and 30 clocks. This humungous collection of watches and the history related to the museum makes the Clockmakers Museum one of the most visited London attractions. The museum is open only from Monday to Saturday.
