Greenwich Park
Greenwich Park is one of the most famous and crowded parks of the city. The Greenwich Park is owned and administered by the Royal Parks which is an special agency of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, exquisitely set up to manage the royal parks of the country. King Henry VIII was born in Greenwich and it was the King himself that had brought deer to this royal park. The Greenwich Park spreads over an area of 183 acres and is probably the oldest park in the entire city of London. Since the park is situated on top of a hill it also offers some amazing panoramic views of the neighbouring London attractions and River Thames. St. Paul’s Cathedral, Royal Naval College, Queens House, National Maritime Museum and Old Royal Observatory are the next door London attractions and can be seen from the Greenwich Park itself. For a lazy and relaxing day in the woods, the Greenwich Park is the most suitable spot. Inside the Greenwich Park there are some eateries that serve finest English delicacies and fresh ale. Many workshops and puppet shows can be seen in the park but the best place to laze around is undoubtedly the bandstand. The closest London Underground station is the North Greenwich tube station.
