The Tate Britain Gallery

The Tate Britain Gallery is one of the top most London attractions. The gallery is sited on the northern banks of the River Thames. It is a part of the renowned Tate group of galleries in London. The Tate Britain was established in the year 1897. Collections displayed at the gallery comprises of outstanding works of J.M.W tower. These collections beautifully depict the development of art in the ancient times. The art works of Tracey Emin, Sam Taylor Wood and Douglas Gordon also are displayed in the collection at the Tate Britain.

The Tate Britain Gallery is well known for showcasing the works of British art forms. It is a well known institution in UK that promotes the British art. Some of the popular British works displayed at the Tate Britain are Stubbs, Blake and George. You can also avail the facilities such as films, guided tours, gallery talks etc. The Tate Britain Gallery has an easy access from the Westminster tube station.

Opening Timings

Daily, 10.00-17.50

Exhibitions open 10.00-17.40 (last admission 17.00)

First Friday of each month, 18.00-22.00 (last entry to exhibitions 21.00) We are closed 24, 25, 26 December (open as normal on 1 January)

Admission

Admission to Tate Britain is free, but donations from visitors are needed to support the gallery's work. You can also help by visiting the Tate Britain Shop, Café and Restaurant, or by becoming a Tate Member.

Access & Disabled Facilities.

The Centenary Development has been completed and provides greatly enhanced facilities for disabled visitors. Parking spaces and wheelchairs are available on request.Disabled visitors can book a parking spaces via Tate Ticketing on 020 7887 8888. The car park is at the North Entrance on John Islip Street, at the back of the gallery. There are two parking spaces for Orange badge holders at the front of the gallery. Pay and Display operates in the streets immediately around the gallery. Parking is free after 18.30 and throughout weekends

Available Bus Routes

A number of buses service the area, including the 2, 3, C10, 36, 87 (formerly 77A), 88, 159, 185, 436 and 507.
