Windsor Castle

The Windsor Castle has been the official home of the British Monarch for the past 900 years. The hall is placed strategically at a top of an artificially created hill. The Windsor Castle is quite special to the Royal family as it has hosted several royal weddings; also the castle is home to ten burials. There are other palaces in London, like, The Holyrood Palace and Buckingham Palace, but, the Windsor Castle is the most popular attraction in London. Only a part of the castle is open to the tourists, rest is the restricted area. The admission charges of the castle are £13.95 for adults, £12.60 for the senior citizens and £8.10 for under 17 years. The students are privileged for special discounts, if they are carrying their ID cards. The visiting hours are 09.45 AM till 05.15 PM (BST) in the months of March till October and from 9:45 AM till 4:15 PM in the months of November till February. The Castle remains closed on 25th and 26th December each year. The Castle is easily reached through the public transport of the city, the nearest tube stations are Edgware Road tube station and Marylebone tube station.
